High School Dress Code
While 9th-12th graders do not have to wear a uniform, HCA does have a dress code for these students. All students must abide by the protocols listed below.

Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit.
The length of shorts and shirts must be mid-thigh length.
Shoulder straps should be at least 1" wide.
Rips/tears should be lower than 3” in length on the upper thighs. If above this length leggings or other material must be worn under.
Pants should not be excessively form-fitting (leggings, spandex, biker shorts, jeggings, etc.). If form-fitting pants are worn a longer top (dress, tunic, sweater, sweatshirt, etc.) must be worn and cover down to mid-thigh.
Shoes should be always worn and should be safe for the school environment; pajamas, bedroom shoes/slippers, or shoes with wheels should not be worn except for school-approved activities.
See-through or mesh garments should not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum coverage requirements of the dress code.
No sunglasses, hats, or hoods are allowed in the building unless permitted by administration for religious, medical, or other applicable reasons.
Blankets, sleep pants, and slippers are not allowed, unless it is pajama day.
Clothing may not depict, imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, or the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene languages or images.
Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.
Clothing and accessories that endanger student or staff safety may not be worn (fishhooks, spurs, or other items that may be considered a weapon may not be worn or brought onto campus).
Apparel, jewelry, accessories, tattoos, or manner of grooming that, by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark, or any other attribute, denotes membership in a gang that advocates illegal or disruptive behavior is prohibited.
